Thing about "Le Freak", it has always been considered a disco hit, and it did burn up the disco chart (as well as the Hot 100), but to me, it is stylish R&B that just happens to be danceable. If you listen to it, it doesn't have a lot of the stereotypical disco elements (i.e., bass drum beat, etc.)But I'm sure Nile Rodgers and the late Bernard Edwards were not complaining about labeling at the time. :) |
