AP doesn't quite have the story right. Check into it. What soured Boston on the deal was that the Olympic committee required that Boston taxpayers pick up every cent of cost overruns for the entire enchilada with no limitations on liability. That's what really happened. Given what other cities have been stuck with, it could have been a stupendous amount.
