That's more complicated, based on perceptions.1. It might not be anti-Semitism, although that is a widely accepted term, because all Semites are not Jews, and people can be Jewish without being a Semite. 2. If you accept that Jews are a distinct ethnicity, then ethnocentrism could apply. 3. If you accept the old proposition that Jews are a distinct race (the Nazis weren't the only ones who thought so), it is racism. 4. If you agree with many (most?) anthropologists that race when speaking about humans is a social rather than a biological designation, then you are left with "anti-Jew" or "Jew-hater." |
