But if a woman decides to have an abortion, I see no problem with the fetus being used for medical research that can make us healthier in the long run.You're begging the question. We don't know this intent or this result. As for callousness, how should people talk when they are talking about tissue for research? I'm an actuary and a lot of my job involves using tables that predict how long people will live. When I discuss mortality rates with a colleague, am I required to say "God rest their souls" at the end of every sentence? That's snarky. Discussing probabilities is a little different. You find crunching numbers and crushing living beings equivalent? |
