I'm no geologist either. I have family in NE/Central Pennsylvania where fracking has been going on for years. Its been the best thing thats happened to the area in years. The gas compaines that are running the show have employed hundreds of locals ( truckers, electricians, plumbers & even veternarians,=security dogs=) to get the job done.
They (gas companies based in Texas) have paid for upgrades to the roads that their trucks w/heavy equiptment use. Local truckers & repair shops needed to keep the trucks running are seeing serious heavy duty pay days. Truckers have to eat, local diners are cashing in. Trucks break down....enter the local motels & bed & breakfasts'.
Property owners have been paid as much as 6 thousand dollars an acre for permission to drill on their land with the promise of ongoing royalties on the gas discovered. You're a farm owner in Sullivan or Lycoming county & someone shows you a suitcase of cash in return for drilling rights on your property, you are not going to care if flames come out of your bathroom spigot. With All that extra $$$ Flowing, Harrisburg & Uncle Sam get their cut & everybodys happy
BTW, no one has ever seen flames come put of their faucet or felt an earth tremor in NE Pennsylvania. The closet thing they feel to a tremor is when they drop their wallet!
That "go here" link you posted was debunked as a staged hoax.
Too bad NYS, You're missing out on helping a lot of southern tier folks that could sure use it.
