Mandatory e-verify and make it a crime to knowingly hire illegals.I really don't understand that issue. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law owned a business until very recently in an industry that is known for its use of illegal aliens. They were scrupulously careful to make sure everyone they hired was a legal resident, I'm pretty sure by using e-verify. They were warned by their lawyer that it could cost them big bucks if they got caught having hired any illegals. I just don't understand why they were at such risk, yet other business owners evidently seem to think it's no big deal to hire illegals. |
