First, that's not a personal insult against Takei.Second, Takei doesn't seem to understand the meaning of Human Dignity that Thomas obviously does. Human Dignity is inherent in a person's soul. When the oppressed maintain their inner worth in oppression they are showing their strength. I personally knew two Holocaust survivors who were able to keep their human indignity in an unimaginable situation. So from what sense of Inner Dignity in Takei does he feel empowered to use such a vile racial slur? Sometime I think some Liberals harbor deep-seated prejudices against groups they pretend to bleed for and enjoy some kind of release when they find members of those groups on whom they can unload their hidden hatreds. |
