They already have designs for "high tech" reactors. At least as high tech as they need to produce plutonium, which is not a particularly demanding requirement. You can't dictate physics through diplomacy, and you and Olog are unwilling to support all that is required to defeat them militarily.So if you're unwilling to do what has to be done to fight Iran then what are we supposed to do? You leave them to develop indigenous reactor designs and they will be producing weapons grade plutonium, probably before they complete their highly enriched uranium bombs. Or you call their bluff and give them western Gen III+ reactors which are proliferation resistant and incapable of producing weapons grade plutonium. The latter case is of course the more effective route to non-proliferation. |
