I don't remember the details, but it was looking like Thompson was going to get it and then something screwed up on his end. FWIW though, the NYC mayor has pretty much been a figurehead since Wagner. Yeah, folks like Rudy can get out there and beat cameras to death for attention, but it's really NYPD, Real Estate interests and the Council that actually does stuff and makes it happen.They could elect Olog and nothing would change. DiBlasio's slowly starting to notice that too. :) |
