Why would they? Has society at large endorsed the murder of cops? Do prosecutors routinely ignore or cover up the murder of cops? Are people allowed to kill cops with complete impunity? Are cops widely considered at best expendable and worthless and at worst parasites on society to be exterminated?

What, exactly, is there to protest in this case?
