It seems to be overwhelmingly progressives who believe the only options are war or a bad deal.Progressives are very aware of a third and a 4th option: 3. No deal at all, continued sanctions, no supervision of Iran at all, and Iran goes full speed ahead to make nuclear weapons. 4. A so-so deal that very much slows down Iran's ability to make a weapon, but doesn't give 100% guarantees. Of course, if Iran turns out to be obstinate, we will end up with #3 anyway. We can't prevent #3. The trouble with #3 is the risk that it turns into #1 at a later date. |
