I agree, but why would I assume that dioceses would be named after regions unless I encountered one? In any event, I wouldn't even assume that there is a single diocese covering Nassau and Suffolk Counties. I might assume that it is part of the Archdiocese of New York, or the Diocese of Brooklyn, if I were to be aware of the existence of the latter.Note that previously it was part of the Diocese of Brooklyn. |
