Basically, if you compare characters between two different TV series, do you determine their similarities by their roles, by their physical appearances, or by their personalities?

Role example - Andros' the Red Space Ranger's equivalent from Power Rangers Time Force is Jen the Pink Time Force Ranger, because they are both the leaders of their teams.

Physical appearance example - Andros' the Red Space Ranger's equivalent in Power Rangers Time Force is Wes the Red Time Force Ranger (not true IMO), because they are both Red Rangers.

Personality example - Powerpuff Girl Buttercup's equivalent in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is Trini the Yellow Ranger because they are both tomboys.
