Try reading a little history instead of being Streetie's sock puppet.

Blacks were still being lynched in 1957 Alabama. The Klan operated openly in 1957 Alabama. Segregation was legal in 1957 Alabama. A black man couldn't drink from a white man's water fountain in 1957 Alabama.

If a white man was walking down the sidewalk in 1957 Alabama, the black man walking in the opposite direction had to step off the sidewalk. Blacks couldn't use the white hospital in 1957 Alabama. Blacks could not attend the white schools in 1957 Alabama. A black woman could not use the same public bathroom as a white woman in 1957 Alabama.

Now tell me again how 1977 New Jersey was as bad as 1957 Alabama?

1957 not 1977. If the OP said 1977 New Jersey was as bad for blacks as 1977 Alabama, I'd agree with that.
