Yes, make Long Island more like Queens.FWIW, it's going to be the only realistic way for the metro area to grow and for housing prices to come down short of some other means of destroying the local economy. Even if we make the core more expensive, we need to shift the housing stock into the suburban region to ensure some degree of growth. The last thing we need is homes that remain so expensive, the only way to purchase is to inherit from your parents, or marry somebody. We're already a high tax state, but the housing costs are scaring off any hopes of attracting business. |
