Of course any long-term cohesive and exclusive group will have common genetic markers. But what's really being argued here is whether Jew is a race. Accepting this was at the heart of the German theory of anti-Semitism of the late 19th century that Hitler brought to a science.Many Jews seem confused as to what a "Jew" is. Going along with the racists is not helpful. It isolates and objectifies people of Jewish background who are more than a DNA construct or the follower of this or that rabbi. |
