Posted by Nilet on Sun Dec 21 21:45:16 2014 A lot of people here have been claiming that Wilson shot Brown in self-defense, and some have even made the same claim regarding the deaths of Trayvon Martin and Tamir Rice.Unfortunately, in Florida a woman was arrested for shooting in self-defense even though she only fired a warning shot and didn't actually shoot her attacker. She's already been locked up for a few years now and is facing a lengthy sentence thanks to an overzealous prosecutor. Perhaps these advocates of the right to self-defense would like to sign this petition to have said overzealous prosecutor suspended and replaced with someone who respects the right to self-defense. Note: The person who attempted to exercise the right to self-defense in this case was black, but Bill, rkba, GP Chris, Silence, and so forth have assured me that this doesn't matter to them, so I expect they'll be signing the petition in short order. |
