"Forest Ave (SI) NY439, Park Avenue (Manhattan) NY22, Lower Manhattan NY1A, etc. "

Who needs 'em, really? Of all places, most dense urban areas don't need route numbers, except when major numbered routes enter one side and go out the other. What possable purpose or utility would result from re-numbering Park Ave. as Route 22? How would that help anyone getting directions? Would anyone seeking to reach Route 22 in Westchester drive up Park Ave., Jerome Ave. and East 233rd St. to get there? Of course not.
