Posted by Nilet on Wed Dec 17 23:27:19 2014 70 years ago, 14-year-old George Stinney was arrested for some random murder, convicted in a sham trial with an all-white jury and a lawyer who didn't even try to defend him, and executed within three months of his arrest.Today, a judge formally declared he was innocent, but refused to reverse his sentence, in violation of commonly accepted jurisprudence that people declared innocent of a crime should not be punished for that crime anyway. Funny how this wasn't mentioned on OTChat. Presumably, Bill and RKBA would have posted it, but they were too busy ranting that Stinney was a "thug" and a criminal and it was totally self-defense when South Carolina murdered him, or maybe they were contorting into knots trying to explain why a grand jury declaring a white man innocent means he's innocent beyond all doubt but a judge declaring a black kid innocent means he's guilty anyway. |
