1. The lack of an indictment in the Garner and Brown cases are gross miscarriages of justice.

finding someone guilty of something before he's had his day in court is also a gross miscarriage of justice, but here you are encouraging it.

2. In particular, the failure of the grand jury in the garner case to indict Officer Pantaleo is an indication that some people (read: the police) are above the law. The recent examples of their egregious conduct in several high-profile cases, reinforces this.

No, it's an indication that they didn't feel an actual crime was committed

3. Eric Garner was put in a chokehold--on video--by Officer Pantaleo. Such a maneuver has been expressly forbidden by the NYPD's Patrol Guide for the past 21 years.

Doing something that's against the patrol book is not autoamticly a crime.

4. Eric Garner is, in FACT, now dead, and the video in question depicts his last living moments on this earth.

yes, of a heart attack.

5. The Medical Examiner ruled that Eric Garner's death was a homicide, and that its proximate cause was compression of Garner's airway, leading to hypoxia and cardiac arrest. In other words, he was choked to death.

Given the circumstances, there exists a rather fascinating possibility:

That the Medical Examiner was WRONG

I had a guy die three blocks from my house under similar circumstances and the cops didn't put him in a choke hold. (The cops actually asked to see my security camera footage as the suspect was fleeting on a motor scooter down my sidewalk. It showed him nearly mowing down a woman walking past my front door.) News flash, people with asthma and heart conditions can have heart attacks from overexcitements. A lady got a heart attack just from running away from that steam pipe explosion near Grand Central a few years ago.

6. The video depicts Pantaleo choking Garner to death.

No it doesn't, try again.

7. The video, seen by millions of people, and Garner's dead body, should have been more than enough evidence for a grand jury to indict Pantaleo for criminally negligent homicide, at a minimum.

Yea, and there was a boat load of evidence OJ Simpson is a murderer, such as a televised car chase through LA, but we all know how THAT went...

Criminally Negligent homicide is actually about the maximum he would have faced. And that, at max, carries four years.

8. No indictment was forthcoming, which strongly suggests serious problems with the entire grand jury proceeding. Scores of legal experts on both sides of the political aisle have expressed great surprise at the SI DA's failure to obtain what, in one lawyer's words, should have been "an easy indictment".

Or it suggests you put too high hopes in the system, and that the fault is with your expectations.

Given that indictments of police officers are exceedingly rare, it's reasonable to think that certain groups of people, like the police, enjoy a degree of immunity from the law.

If such a thing is true, then it must only be because THE PEOPLE feel they should, because the PEOPLE make up the system.
