I'm not surprised because there have been many other incidents in which (white) cops have not been indicted or otherwise charged when (black) suspects or bystanders have died under highly questionable circumstances, at their hands.

See Sean Bell, Amadou Diallo, Kimiani Gray, Patrick Dorismond, Timithy Stansbury, Orlando Barlow, Aaron Campbell, Alonzo Ashley, Michael Brown, and, of course, Eric Garner.
