I haven't needed health care in Canada, nor have I had a medical emergency; just a chronic condition I can't afford to treat (but could in Canada). I also have a minor condition that occurs from time to time, occasionally requiring a non-urgent non-emergency appointment to remedy it. In America, getting such an appointment takes about a week and cost $40. Meanwhile, when I had the same condition in Italy, I got a house call on the same day and it would have cost $0 if I'd been from a country that provides health care to visiting Italians. If Canadian health care is even half as good as Italian health care, it'd be amazing. |
