Quite a difference, though, since a stated goal of the Nazi regime was genocide.

Oh? I'm not sure it was stated publicly enough and early enough that the average conscript would have known.

Say what you want about America's involvement in Vietnam, genocide of the North Vietnamese was not our goal.

No, but killing Vietnamese people was a necessary aspect of the endeavour, and the stated goal was hardly sufficient to justify it. Personally, I don't see much fundamental difference between mass murder in the name of genocide and mass murder in the name of any other dumb goal.

The question remains, do you believe everyone has an obligation to murder people if their country tells them to? If so, are there exceptions to this obligation? If so, do these exceptions apply universally, or does "America is special" count among them?
