But if they try to filibuster a Supreme Court nominee that would be political suicide especially if you are talking about replacing Notorious RBG with another "Liberal" nominee. If Scalia or Thomas was to drop dead and President Obama nominated Goodwin Liu there would be more political cover, but not in this case. Resisting PPACA can be defended, but hard to claim you are not obstructionist when you are resisting like for like on the Supreme Court |
