There is a Halal bagel shop in Medford (I think the owner is Turkish) that advertises the usual breakfast sandwiches: Bacon & Egg, Ham & Egg, Sausage & Egg. I've bought a couple of sandwiches there to try to see how a Halal place could offer these.The "ham" is smoked turkey, the sausage is beef, and the "bacon" is some kind of beef -- not Bastrami, thicker and tougher than pig bacon, but very tasty. Maybe "beef plate"? Jews sometimes use that as a breakfast meat. Do you have any places like that in L.A.? |
