The fact that you even have to ask says a lot about your understanding of context and nuance.

Your response says volumes about yours.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe you misunderstood both the situation AND what I wrote back to you?

Oh yes, it "occurred" to me. There are three possibilities I considered, not all mutually exclusive:

1. I am unable to understand nuance and context and what people say.
2. You are unable to understand nuance and context and what people say.
3. You are able to understand nuance and context, but pretend you are not.

If Hypothesis 1 were true, then it would necessarily follow that I'd be unable to hold a rational debate with anybody. However, this is manifestly not the case, as I manage to hold rational discussions everyday in many fora, including with the relative handful of reasonable people here on OTChat. Ergo, Hypothesis 1 is falsified.

If Hypothesis 2 were true, then it would necessarily follow that you'd be unable to hold a rational debate with anybody. Although I have been on SubChat for nearly a decade and met you in person several times, I have yet to see a single example of you holding a rational debate with anybody. Ergo, Hypothesis 2 is confirmed.

However, Hypothesis 3 makes the same prediction and is confirmed by the same evidence. An example of you managing a rational debate would falsify Hypothesis 2 and confirm Hypothesis 3, but that evidence is currently unavailable.

So which is it? Are you an idiot, or a troll who acts like an idiot?
