Time for beer loving connisseurs to enjoy the fruits of fermented barley, malt, hops & yeast brewed only this season.Thanks to our Bavarian bretheren, a special brew is available that is truly nectar of the gods for those who appreciate quality head (in a beer mug that is!).Having graduated summa cum lager, earning my degree from various taprooms in Irish Woodside (west of 61st st.),allow me to suggest a few pallet pleasers from my accumulated knowledge available only this time of year... LowenBrau Paulaner Spaatenbrau Sam Adams. Years ago, Lowenbrau was the best Oktoberfest out there IMO. But when they were bought out by Miller, the taste was not the same. Sam Adams is good at a reasonable price. BTW, they (Sam Adams) have to spell it "Octoberfest" The k in the spelling as in "oktoberfest" is copyrighted & a registered trade mark of the club of Munich Brewers. So enjoy! Overindulging is not the wurst thing that can happen to you!! |
