The police can still choose to sit on the footage, which could only make matters with the public worse by giving rise to fears of a cover-up. As Mr. Bauman pointed out, what matters is the process by which that footage in available to be viewed by outside oversight groups. Getting the cameras themselves is a good step in the right direction, but it needs a bureaucratic footing or its as good as useless. |
