It's hardly inconceivable.MSNBC offers tepid warmed-over conservatism— liberals won't watch it because it's far to the right of the center, centrists won't watch it because it's far to the right of the center, and conservatives won't watch it because they demand absolute ideological purity and MSNBC doesn't live up to their expectations. Meanwhile, Fox makes a point of being an unapologetic extremist group so the wingnuts come flocking. I'm sure I've posted this before, but here's the basic summary of American news TV right now: The event: The Republicans and Democrats play against each other in a Senate baseball game. The Democrats win 20-0. The conservative Fox reports that the Republicans won 20-0. The "centrist" CNN reports that the game was tied 10-10. The "liberal" MSNBC reports that the Democrats won 20-19. |
