How in the world would a bank executive in SF, NY, Charlotte or wherever BOA is based have known about individual fraudulent loans made by workers at countrywide, a company BOA hadn't even bought yet?Personally I know several people that knowingly lied on their loan application. They were told by the lenders that "everyone does it". But it's a stretch to prosecute a bank executive for reselling a loan when the actual fraud was committed by the original lender and the buyer. The "we know you really knew about it" tactic may not be enough without some sort of proff. |
