Dr. Pepper is owned by the Dr. Pepper Company of Dallas TX. They never did have national distribution like Coke and Pepsi. When they went national, they contracted with local bottlers for manufacture and distribution of their product. Sometimes with Pepsi, sometimes with Coke, and occasionaly with a different company.In markets where Pepsi distributes Dr. Pepper, it usually comes in a Pepsi shaped bottle, and Coke markets Mr. Pibb against it. In markets where Coke distributes Dr. Pepper, it usually comes in its own shaped bottle, since Coke will put nothing but Coke in a Coke shaped bottle. And Mr. Pibb is nowhere to be seen.
