Of course I'm right. Anyone who has followed the doings in the Middle East saw this coming a mile away. The only difference between the Shalit deal and this deal was the # of prisoners released. The next time, the demand will be for 100. Wait and see.

Arabs understand and respect one thing - force. Willingness to talk, negotiate, et al, is seen as weakness to be exploited. Its no coincidence that Israel is at its most secure when it strikes back at terrorists hardest and doesn't listen to shit. Every concession, every withdrawal has been met with more violence. There was only one exception to this - when Israel withdrew from the Sinai as part of the 1979 Camp David Accords with Egypt, that did result in peace. Sadat, in the end, was an honorable man, and for that he paid with his life.

If I was in charge (and Thank God I'm not), this is what I would do the next time an American soldier is kidnapped, I put cameras down in Gitmo, round up 100 prisoners and surround them with soliders holding M-16's, and make the following announcement: You have 24 hours to release the soldier. Every minute over 24 hours will result in another prisoner being shot in the head at close range, on live television. You'll see the soldier being released in short order.

But no - the United States has to remain civilized in the face of barbarism and adhere to the rules of war in the face of lawlessness.
