Ah, here comes the shell game again. WMATA declared that Judaism is a religion, not an ethnic group so I've been using his definition all this time. Now Judaism is an ethnic group. Or maybe more than one? Do Ashkenazi and Sephardim count as the same ethnic group? Because Israel has quite a bit of racism between the different flavours.In any case, it's moot. The ancient Israelis no longer exist, and there's no particular reason why Jews (any of the modern ethnic groups by that name) should have any more claim to Palestine than the Egyptians. |
