There are a million things that humanity or some subset thereof had better start realising if we want a positive long-term outlook, but we have to deal with the species of minimally intelligent monkeys that we are and not the species of smart rational thinkers we wish we were.

Israel and Palestine are both responsible for the current mess, but Israel is in a better position to start sorting it out.
