OK, I realize I am quibbling for the sake of amusement value here. But in point of fact the buyer of the van could not reasonably refuse to sell it back (which is a stated requirement of a genuine sale), because civil law would not allow him to make use of the van if he didn't sell it back. He wouldn't have title, so he wouldn't be able to get plates or insure it. |
