Its not just old food.

For example, my wife's '03 Honda minivan has been battered by four children and has crumbs all over the place. Rather than clean it for Passover, we sold it with the rest of the Chometz, since she would not be needing it over Passover.

What goyim in this modern era would by a 2003 Honda minivan? :)
