At the moment, Jamaica is suffering residual/collateral damage from having been oppressed by Britain in the past.This sounds like a line from the Life of Brian. "What have the British ever done for us?" Jamaica, as with most former British colonies, are in a much better state than if the British had not been there. For starters, they tend to have decent education systems (which cannot be said for many south European countries). You only need to look at the comparative state of Hong Kong and its neighboring burgs to see quite how good a thing the British Empire was. And really, I don't give a fuck if crypto-communists and apologists for Islamist terrorism don't like us; it just goes to show what a good job we did. |
