Because, still today - though you may not believe it - many black kids are discouraged from doing things like applying to the Ivy League, or taking AP courses, or even staying in school.


BINGO, and those are EXACTLY the same people making a fuss that this is a "black" kid accomplishment, or more so by making it sound that it should be a "surprise" that Black people could do such things. That's terrible.
