People would get attacked if someone said "A white kid got into 8 Ivy League colleges" as opposed to "A Black kid got into 8 ivy league colleges". Why not just a "kid"? Why would "being Italian" or fill in a blank have ANYTHING to do with the story? Other than, "Of surprise, look an Italian could actually do something like that". That would also be terrible. |
