They were largely ambivalent having seen what happened to their fellow citizens over in England. Why do you think they came over here and specifically wrote the Constitution to keep religion the hell OUT of government in the first place?Stop being spoonfed by the televangelist party ... look it up for yourself. They weren't PRO-Christian or Anti-Christian. They recognized that there were NUMEROUS other religions that emigrated here in the beginning and speicifically wrote the Constitution to just leave everybody alone and ensure that the government would NEVER favor *ANY* religion or Jews wouldn't be welcome here at all being SO far away from your definition of "God-fearing" ... |
