Dell Latitude C610, vintage 2002 crappy.

Pentium 4 1Ghz
60gb Hitachi 7200rpm drive
256mb memory
24x CD-RW/DVD combo
4460 mAH battery
Running Win XP Pro
200gb Seagate HD in a CompUSA HD enclosure
Lucent Orinocco Wireless-B card

This machine has turned out to be one hell of a lemon. Thank god for service contracts and customer replacable components. At the moment I think the only original components are the case and the motherboard and processor. I'm on my third HD, second set of memory, third CD-ROM, second floppy drive, second keyboard, and second screen. I was stupid enough to order it without integrated wireless, and it doesn't have USB 2.0, so if I want to use that 200gb external to it's fullest I have to pull the wireless card from the PC card slot and replace it with a Belkin USB 2.0 card.

Given all the issues I have with this machine I'm looking to replace it with a new computer. Since I've never much cared for not knowing what was inside the box I'm thinking of assembling my own desktop to replace it. Something along these lines with a halfway decent mix between price and performance. I already have an old monitor which could provide yeoman duty until something better could be purchased, and it'd be possible to use the 200gb Seagate out of it's enclosure in that machine.
