I have to say, I hated the Arnines back in the day. I missed out on the Triplex/Standards/Lo-Vs/etc., so the Arnines were the oldest equipment I rode. And by the time I really started paying attention (late 60s), they were well past their prime. Now, I'm more benevolent. Maybe a sign of aging :)OTOH, I still hate the R-27/R-30s. Most boring cars I knew. Strangely, their IRT cousins (R-26/R-28) didn't bother me nearly as much, maybe because back then, in smorgsboard-train time, there would be 1 pair in a consist tops, maybe a few more on a 6 train. |
