IAWTP.Hitler did lots of stupid things but his approach to the Jews was horribly clever. He started out with financial penalties only. Not something that would justify an armed insurrection in most people's minds (either Jews or non-Jews who might have been opposed to Hitler). Only when his hold on the country was pretty ironclad did he sponsor violence against Jews. And even then it was just stated in terms of concentration camps, not extermination. Plenty of other opponents of the Nazis were being sent there as well. |
