The only philosophy of a for-profit business should be increasing value for the shareholders through any legal means.So do you think that businesses (electric companies with coal-fired power plants, for instance) should lobby against stricter regulation of their activity, if stricter regulation is bad for their bottom line but good for the health of Americans? Assume the lobbying I am referring to is 100% legal. Is it therefore desirable? |
