That question oddly fits the narrative of this thread. He had the power to destroy people and he did. I actually don't believe he really had much of a political theory except his own power.Of course, liberals spent the next 50 years screaming "McCarthyism" anytime anyone on the right criticized them in any way, which may have burnished McCarthy's posthumous reputation with some. Do you remember McCarthy while he was alive? Were you around and politically aware. I was. |
