I did a little researching but came up empty on Nassau's previous ordinances on it. VTL 1111 began in 1988, was amended in 2001 for red light cameras and again in 2009. There's a new amendment sitting this year which expands on it. Suffice it to say that the "tires" standard didn't appear until 2001 and up until then it was up to local police to determine if you were yellow or red in the intersection. |
