Some of the people here who said democracy would be good for Egypt were dismayed when the Brotherhood won the elections a year ago in a free election, and now want to see the democratically elected government thrown out because they don't agree with it. That doesn't sound like democracy to me.Similarly, a lot of people who would usually condone Islamist totalitarianism, violence, oppression, and terrorism are all in favor of democracy tonight. It's a funny old world. |
