Sure.Hildale, UT and Colorado City, AZ, have an equal number of boys and girls growing up year by year. As these kids become teenagers, thought is given to their eventually getting married. Oops. Every boy uses up 3 girls. There's a surplus of boys with no girls their age to marry. What to do? I don't know what the right answer for such a society would be. I do know what's happening right now, though. The excess boys get expelled from the community, typically at an age like 15 or so. They drive the boys to St. George and tell them to have a nice life. |
