The ugly secret of organ transplants is that someone has to die, often unnaturally, to supply them. I don't blame the mother for advocating, even unfairly, for her daughter, because that's what parents do. G-d forbid I should be in a position where I might have to do the same.Now that she got what she wanted, I do blame her for trashing people who disagree. Because her daughter got a lung which impartial medial practice said, in effect, should have gone to someone else more medically appropriate, doesn't mean it's right. It's a little ghoulish to, in effect, to hope someone dies to save your loved one's life. |
