I used to agree with the half and half concept - "checks and balances" ... alas, looking at republicans these days, "checks and wobbles" is no way to run a government. I've advocated a different approach ... government should meet for ONE day a year. Hand each legislator one sheet of paper and one crayon. They can trade paper with others, but at the end of the day, teacher comes around and collects the papers and then burns them. Problem solved. :) |
